In Luke 10, we find two sisters, Martha and Mary, who wanted to be with Jesus. Martha wanted everything perfect and was so busy serving that she missed the importance of the time with Jesus, as we see in Verse 41. “And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:”Mary enjoyed her time with Jesus, and our Saviour focused upon it in Verse 42.  “But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”The balance between serving Jesus without forgetting the fellowship with Jesus is a constant, needed reminder.

This summer has been a great season of ministry. We have done our best to be busy serving our Saviour while enjoying the fellowship with our Saviour. July began with the conclusion of our Summer Revival. God used the revival to help His church. Immediately after the revival, we began preparations for our Holiday Bible Club (Vacation Bible School) and Community BBQ.

We enjoyed a camp theme for Holiday Bible Club, entitled “Camp Moose on the Loose,” and God blessed with 3 souls saved that week! The spirit of those serving was exceptional, and it was so good to see each night’s message preached by three different men. Each man did a phenomenal job, and the children responded to the Bible messages. Many new children came throughout the HBC. Pray as we continue following up with these new families.

The Community BBQ was another great success! New families came, new people partook in the vision of service, and God gave favour among the community. We’re already thinking about how we can improve and take things to another level next year! Pray that the families that came will get saved!

We had a baptismal service just before HBC and the BBQ. Two boys, including our Nathan, were baptized! One family brought 15 visitors that one day alone! Holly and I are so proud of Nathan and his decision to get baptized.

A family that started coming to SBC before I became pastor was married in July. They asked us to have a part in their wedding and give the Gospel. Many lost family members heard the good news of Jesus Christ, and we’re praying that these souls will say “I do” to Jesus Christ and become children of God.

The autumn season is nearing, and much is planned, including our Missions Month in October. Pray that God’s people would step up in faith to help support more missionaries. Also, we have a short, three-week furlough planned at the end of October through the first half of November. Our schedule is full; please pray for safe travels and productive meetings.
