My family and I hope and pray that you had a Merry Christmas. Thank you for the many cards, emails, gifts, and special offerings. It is humbling to think of how many people lovingly pray for us.
November began for us with another lockdown that closed churches. Church was held completely via livestream until December 5. Our area has been in the highest tier of restrictions for some time now, so there hasn’t been a lot of changes for us except that the churches were closed.
On November 16, I prayed with our boys before their bedtime. Every night we pray with them, and often this is a time for them to ask questions and talk about a myriad of subjects. On that particular Monday evening, we talked about the Rapture, the Tribulation, and some of the wraths that will take place during the Tribulation. Everyone, we thought, went to sleep peacefully. The next day, we went to the church to do some recording for the church service that Wednesday. Jonathan, our second oldest, asked if he could ride home with me, so we travelled home talking. As we neared our home, Jonathan asked me if he could ask me a question and started weeping. I was surprised by this. Through tears, he said, “I’m not sure I’m saved. Can I get saved now?” A moment later, we pulled into our driveway, and several minutes later, Jonathan got saved! I asked him afterwards what brought him to tears, and he said, “After we talked about the Tribulation last night, I couldn’t get to sleep, as I was fearful I would go through all those terrible things.” Holly and I are so excited to see Jonathan get his salvation settled! The Bible works!
We enjoyed a different Christmas season with the church. Much of our normal events like caroling in nursing homes couldn’t be held, but we were able to send a lot of food, along with Gospel tracts, to needy families. We focused on the deity of Jesus as we walked through John 1 in a sermon series entitled, “The Word Made Flesh.”
This year we can apply for our permanent resident visas here in the UK. We are excited to get the visa process done and hope to apply around June. The cost for this is £14,334 (US$19,675). The church here has been saving for this along with us, and we have £11,800 (US$16,195) saved. We need to raise US$3,480 more before June. If you can help with a one-time love offering or special offering, that would be a great help! Pray with us about these needs please.
May God’s grace be with you all this new year.
